Welcome to Gallandeer Ridge

Gallandeer Ridge has been breeding and showing Miniature Horses for several years concentrating on American bloodlines.

Our aim is to breed a true horse in miniature but not limit that to purely one type of horse. Some of our horses may be more Arabian in type while others are more Thoroughbred. Our riding horses are Spanish Andalusians and our dream is to one day breed a true Andalusian in miniature.

We place great emphasis on conformation and movement. Our reputation both for breeding and in the show ring revolves around these two aspects. Our horses must be able to move and move well. Although we love our chestnuts, we do have quite a variety of colours in our herd.

Showing our horses is an important aspect of our stud as it gives us the opportunity to compare the results of our breeding programme with those of other breeders. We are intending to increase this aspect of our stud over the coming year by using selected professional trainers to showcase our horses. In particular, we are looking forward to seeing Adam King of King Estate International (www.kingestate.com.au) handling some of our Miniatures later this year. King Estate has been showing our Andalusians with great success.

In May 2004 we visited the USA for the express purpose of purchasing horses for our pure American breeding program. We visited many studs across the length and breadth of the USA and finally chose two colts and two fillies from Bonnie & Gordon Harris of Iona Farm, Ohio and a colt and filly from Jamie Ruehle of High Country Miniatures, Texas. We saw many other horses that we liked and over the next few years, we intend to add more imports to these six youngsters.

Prices include GST and terms may be considered. We also offer package prices on purchases of three or more horses - conditions apply. Expressions of interest in next season's foals are welcome. Each broodmare's individual page lists the stallion to whom they are currently in foal. Our horses are registered with the MHAA and, where eligible, the AMHA (USA). All our breeding stock are DNA'd and youngsters are parentage verified.

For overseas clients, our services include assistance in organising transport and the associated paperwork.
