Welcome to Gallandeer Ridge

Miniature Horses

Gallandeer Ridge has been breeding and showing Miniature Horses for 20 years concentrating on American bloodlines.

Our aim is to breed a true horse in miniature but not limit that to purely one type of horse. Some of our horses may be more Arabian in type while others are more Thoroughbred. We place great emphasis on conformation and movement. Although we love our chestnuts, we do have quite a variety of colours in our herd.

In May 2004, we visited the USA for the express purpose of purchasing horses for our pure American breeding program. We visited many studs across the length and breadth of the USA and finally chose two colts and two fillies from Bonnie & Gordon Harris of Iona Farm, Ohio and a colt and filly from Jamie Ruehle of High Country Miniatures, Texas. We saw many other horses that we liked and over the next few years, we intend to add more imports to these.

Spanish Andalusians (PRE)

Andalusians have been our passion for nearly 40 years. In 2004 we decided to commence our own stud with the first of our Spanishs imports. While we specialise in chestnuts of Carthusian bloodlines, our emphasis is and always will be on horses with classical Andalusian conformation and movement.

We also breed Hispano-Arabes from a select band of Arabian broodmares.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website. Please contact us if you have an enquiry or would like to request a DVD of our horses. Expressions of interest in next season's foals are also welcome. Prices include GST and are not negotiable. However, terms may be considered. We reserve the right to vary prices at any time. We do offer a discount on purchases of three or more horses - conditions apply.

Our Miniatures are registered with the MHAA and, where eligible, with the AMHA (USA). Our PRE are registered in the Spanish Studbook and our Hispano-Arabes with the AHAA and AHSA.

For our overseas clients, our services include assistance in organising transport and the associated paperwork.

Not all our horses are listed on this website, especially foals from the latest foal drop. If you cannot find something here that quite fits your criteria, please feel free to contact us as we may have just what you are searching for.
